Story
All of us are only too aware of the enormous challenge presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. Indeed, we will have faced the physical and emotional impact that has had on us personally, or on someone we know. I think we can all agree that at the height of the pandemic the additional challenge our nurses faced, and managed every day on the Covid frontline, was nothing less than extraordinary. Without that significant sacrifice we would certainly have lost even more loved ones to this unprecedented outbreak. However, that challenge is by no means over. To protect the future of our exceptional nursing profession, a small team of Defence Medical Services’ personnel are facing their own physical challenge. It is a venture that will go a very small way towards mirroring the herculean efforts we all witnessed from civilian and military nurses alike. In Lands End on 13 Aug 22, we will be commencing a 1000-mile cycle ride to John O’Groats. Therefore, we are asking our friends and family to sponsor us for this 2-week endeavour. Our aim is to sponsor future nurse leaders on Florence Nightingale Foundation Scholarships so that any further challenges to health can continue to be faced head-on.
