Fundraising for Born Too Soon Fund
Story
Hi My name is Dhillon,
Thank you for visiting my page.
I am raising money for “Born Too Soon” a charity which helped keep me alive. This amazing charity supported my mummy and me when I was born. I want to raise enough money to buy a incubator to keep little babies like me alive and breathing as they came out of their mummy’s tummies too early!
One of the first charity events I did was on my 5th birthday. To celebrate I did a ‘Big Birthday Swim’ to start my fundraising journey.

After so much anticipation finally it was the news I was waiting for, when I found out I was pregnant in 2013 it was one of the best things that could have ever happened to me, my husband and our families. Our excitement soon became one of the most challenging experiences of our lives! Unfortunately I faced Hyperemesis gravidarum for most of my pregnancy leaving me unable to carry on a normal life due to debilitating ‘morning sickness’.
Whilst there were many ups and downs I came to the final trimester and I had the finishing line in sight - this little person had kept me going...
I recall getting to 32 weeks and going for an appointment at Kingston Hospital where the nurses and doctors found I had serve pre-eclampsia which resulted in Dhillon being born 2 months early weighing a tiny 3lb 9oz. With my poor baby boy in NICU and me in HDU it wasn’t the ideal way to meet my Son for the first time let alone being separated from him straight away.
What can we say, without the amazing support of Pauline Wood from Born too Soon and the amazing staff at Kingston Hospital I don’t think I could have ever got through the most challenging time of my life. The level of care and attention they showed us was overwhelming and they eased our anxieties and worries and assured us that everything would be OK. Any first time mother who suffers complications will tell you, you always fear the worst, the feeling cannot be described but the staff at the hospital went above and beyond to assure the highest quality of care.
And so we are here and my not so little boy who is now 5, Dhillon wants to show his appreciation and support for this amazing charity and what it does for the NNU, without them my little boy Dhillon may not have been here today.
Dhillon is excited to fund raise for a new incubator for the NNU and if there is something I would say about him... he definitely is a determined fighter.
Dhillon’s birthday swim generated a whopping £5k on his 5th Birthday
He is now working towards raising lots more where his ideas of involving other children to do a sponsored bounce with 40 children already signed up to bounce with him on the 20th January 2019.
I hope you will help him along in achieving this goal to get this incubator 😀
