Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

We are part of a self organised group of 9 people (Jeremy Mills, Andy Coker, Ian Westran, David Cooke, Paul Skipper, Ian Brown, Estelle Reeve, Nick Hunt and Craig Sleet) who are participating in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.

The three peaks of the Yorkshire Three Peaks are arranged in a triangle, with the River Hibble and two minor B roads between them. The total walking distance is 39.2km (24.5 miles).

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, these peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

We will be completing this challenge on Saturday 30 July 2011 from 5am and are hoping to achieve it within 12 hours.

We are all aiming to raise at least £100 each which will be donated to a very worthy cause The Prostate Cancer Charity (http://www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/).

We are grateful for any donations which are made to us.
