Story
On 12th June 2015, 14 members of Loughborough Round Table will be heading north to Whitehaven to start our Coast to Coast charity bike ride challenge.
This year we are again raising money for Ashmount Special school in Loughborough.
Ashmount provide education for over 125 children with severe and complex special educational needs. The money we have raised so far has gone towards outdoor play equipment which has been of massive benefit to the children. Money raised from this challenge will go towards purchasing new specialist outdoor musical instruments.
Ashmount school is a very personal charity for Loughborough Round Table as it was the chosen charity of our past Chairman, Jon May, who tragically passed away in 2013. Both Jon's children, Daniel and Chloe and Loughborough Round Table have continued to support Ashmount in his memory.
On the bike ride, we will be covering 142 miles in two days, starting out at Whitehaven in the Lake District and finishing in Newcastle on Tyne. I'm not quite sure what I've let myself in for but I'm hoping that a) my gel seat will be my saviour, b) it will be huge fun and c) we will raise shed loads of money for Ashmount.
Please join us in supporting this worthy cause.
