Story
Many of you are aware Alice was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer at the end of March last year. Alice went on to have chemotherapy followed by a mastectomy with reconstructive surgery early November. Alice was remarkable throughout her treatment, so positive and was making really good progress.
However after surgery Alice began to suffer new symptoms and was admitted to hospital end of November. After three weeks of terrible suffering and extensive testing Alice was eventually told her cancer had spread to the fluid in her spinal chord and brain, no treatment was available with only weeks to live… The most heartbreaking and devastating news for us all to hear.
Alice was moved to Fair Havens Monday 19th December where she received palliative care and was made as comfortable as possible. As a family we all spent as much time as we could with Alice, she was so fortunate to be surrounded by her close friends which meant so much to all of us. On the morning of Tuesday 10th January Alice slipped away peacefully with us by her side, knowing that she was loved by so many.
We can’t emphasise enough how strong and brave Alice was throughout the truly toughest of times, we are in awe of how she dealt with this cruel disease. We are so proud of her, she will leave a massive hole in our family, but we know Alice will always be with us and forever in our hearts.
Alice’s Funeral will be held on-
Thursday 9th March- 11:20am Southend Crematorium Sutton Road , SS2 5PX .
Afterwards we will be celebrating our wonderful Alice at The Boatyard Leigh On Sea SS9 2EN. 1pm- 5.30pm.
As a family we have decided that rather than flowers we would like to raise money for both Fair Havens Hospices and Cancer Research UK, both deserving charities. We will always be so grateful to Fair Havens for their care and compassion and we feel so much more needs to be done with research into this dreadful disease.
Alice you are Awesome 🤍 now rest in peace
