Story

My big sister was always my cycling inspiration - she went everywhere on her bike and when I was 21 she gave me my first grown up road bike - a pink women’s Dawes. This bike saw me though University and carried me back and forth to my first job.  In the end it rusted away in the garden when I juggled life as a mother and CEO.

Now my big sister is an inspiration again but this time because she has incurable breast cancer and she can’t manage her own bike anymore.  The cancer is incurable but her spirit is incorrigible - she is amazing the way she makes the most of life in spite of the side effects and fatigue caused by her treatments and the uncertainty about her future.

So I am cycling to raise money to make something positive of our family’s experience of cancer. What better way than getting on my bike for the London to Cambridge Cycle in support of Breast Cancer Now!

I love being on my bike (it makes me feel like a kid) and I do cycle to work occasionally, but I have never cycled this far so it will be a big challenge for me and your sponsorship will really spur me on and make a huge difference to our wonderful charity.
