As many of you know, over the years many family and friends, myself included have been touched by this unforgiving disease in various forms. This year I have been thrown the gauntlet and so taken up the challenge to do this not only for myself but also to help make a difference to others.

• Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.
• More than 1 in 3 people in the UK will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime.
• There are more than 200 types of cancers.
