We support bereaved people in Scotland to help them understand and navigate grief

Story

I work for Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland which supports people in Scotland who have lost a loved one.  We offer help to children, young people and adults who are bereaved and are finding life difficult.

Like many charities we are looking for funding and I decided I wanted to help by setting myself a challenge and raising money.

I know personally how important it is to provide support for people who are bereaved.  My Mum died when I was 11 and in those days there was very little help available.  Her death affected the whole family and it would have been so good to have been supported through those traumatic times.

I turned 60 in October 2016 and would like to raise my fitness and raise funds.  So I'll be taking part in the Mighty Stride in Dundee in 2017.  This involves walking for 26 miles and as I ran in the first Dundee marathon many years ago it feels very fitting.  A close friend of ours from Dundee died in August 2016 and walking so near the anniversary of his death will mean a lot.

Please help me to help Cruse Bereavement care Scotland.
