Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In May 2017 I'll be cycling the Fred Whitton Challenge covering 112 miles climbing over 10,700ft over all of the Lakeland Passes. Also I'm May 2018 I'll be cycling London to Paris approx. 300mls over 4 days which will be a self funded challenge with all donations going to Hospice At Home West Cumbria
I wont bore you with going on and its always difficult to talk about yourself so ill be brief lol. In 1990 I was involved in a road accident with near amputation to my left leg. Many operations later with the help a little metal its still intact albeit abit knackered lol but its there non the less. Unfortunately I was left with lasting damage to me knee joint to the point where within the next 5yrs ill be needing a full knee replacement. This was 4 years ago. My surgeon the marvellous Mr Dawson from Cumberland Infirmary told be to get a bike so I did and the rest is history..... I'm now 49 and cycling has changed my life, I love this beautiful county we live in & I'm proud to be West Cumbrian and wanted a charity that benefited our local community. So I'd like raise as much a I can with the help of my generous family & friends and those I've yet to meet doing something I love to do. xxx
I'm sure the cause I've chosen needs little explanation. Giving families and patients in West Cumbria free support and care in there homes during there final days together.
I believe its important that whatever we take out of our community we have to be willing to put back in so this is why I'm doing it. Hopefully raising as much as I can doing something I love because you never know when we ourselves might just depend on these services that themselves rely so much on fundraising. So please be as generous as you can as 100% of all money's donated goes back into West Cumbria xxx
