I am very excited to be participating in my 3rd Love Hope Strength hiking challenge to continue my efforts in fighting cancer and helping the people it affects. This time is more special than ever… I will be trekking with MY DAUGHTER LIAN in the SAHARA DESERT!

This is so incredibly special for the two of us and most likely it will be our one and only time participating in an LHS challenge together, especially with college around the corner for Lian. 

We will both be fundraising for The Love Hope and Strength Foundation. We want you to know that your donations will NOT be going towards any part of the cost of our trips. We will be paying all our own expenses and the money we raise will go directly towards cancer care and research. 

I will also be doing this trek with many of the amazing people that I met on Rock the Canyons 2018 and Iceland Rocks 2019. We will once again be giving each other support and encouragement as we tread through the deep sand dunes and the warm sun of the desert days and not to forget those freezing cold camping nights together....

Love Hope Strength presents Sahara Rocks, a trek through the ever-changing desert landscape of Northern Africa from November 8 -14, 2022. 

Trekkers will experience the beauty of one of the most breathtaking deserts in the world, but its going to be challenging, with a climb to the top of the Chigaga Dunes - the highest dunes in the Sahara - and some long hiking days.

LHS was co-founded by acclaimed musician Mike Peters, who aimed to save lives, one concert at a time, and give hope to families affected by cancer. 

The money raised through Sahara Rocks will support healthcare projects in Africa to help make LHS vision of a better world for people with cancer a reality. Over the past decade LHS has established the 'Get On The List' programme to help people with a blood cancer who need a second chance of life. To date LHS has registered over 200,000 people to international stem cell donor registries. Over 5,000 identified as potentially live saving donors.
