The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

I spend my days cutting off everyone’s hair. This hair gets wasted, thrown away.

Since turning 30 I feel I want to give back and help others. Let’s face it I can’t run a marathon yet... but I have some extra hair that can hopefully be made into a wig for a young boy or girl who needs it more than I do.

2 years ago I cut off Amarah’s hair she donated 10 inches to this amazing charity at the age of 5. She’s more courageous than myself but she sat through the whole experience with a smile on her face and she has taught me something that I can’t explain. Children see things very different than adults.

I watch my clients looking in the mirror once we have finished and I know they feel good about themselves, giving them a boost is actually why I love my job. So I know how important hair is to each individual.

I couldn’t actually imagine being young and suffering with cancer or another condition because I have been extremely lucky in life and through my childhood.

7 or more inches isn’t much but with some extra pennies it can help, by sponsoring me and donating to The Little Princess Trust we can make a difference. It costs the charity between £350-500 to make a wig.
