Story
Just a few words to say a huge big thank you to every single person who has supported me to raise as much as possible for the wonderful Marie Curie. The donations through this page have been second to none and everybody should give themselves a big pat on the back. Also a big thank you to everyone who gave their hard earned cash through sponsor forms, and to friends stopping me in the street to give me a donation. I was given 50 pounds from a family of Ross county supporters on the eve of the cup final who were staying at the same hotel as myself and Linda. This is what makes it all worthwhile and from the bottom of my heart thank you all very much. Thank you to the evening news and Radio forth for highlighting the just giving page and finally thanks to my partner Linda and my 3 daughters for all their help with emails, letters, phone calls and organisation. And last but not least Thank you to Big Alan, Donna for their help, to Ross for cycling beside me with my water and goodies and finally to Brian McGregor for walking the last 15 miles with me.After the walk Linda and i went to our hotel with some friends for a wee refreshment and Linda got a phone call round about 5 o'clock from my daughter with the devastating news my sister in law has passed away at 15:20, exactly an hour before i arrived at Hampden at 16:20. I was absolutely gutted it put a real damper on the rest of the evening. My sympathies to Alan, Jennifer, Graham and Rachael. RIP Kathleen. On the walk itself i completed it in 10 hours and 20 minutes, arriving at Hampden at 16:20. Felt good apart from 3 blisters on my heels which were aching, and my toe nail on my right foot has turned black. Cant complain if that's all i have to worry about after 45 miles walking.
Thanks very much again!!
