We fund pioneering research to tackle bowel cancer.

Story

Bowel cancer is often associated with older people and certain life style choices. David was 39 when diagnosed and had none of the habits that are so frowned upon. Because of his youth the diagnosis was delayed. His cancer was virulent and unstoppable despite 18 months of distressing treatment. He was brave and uncomplaining and always hoped for a miracle cure. For our son there were no miracles.

David also suffered with autism. For life to stack so much hardship on the shoulders of one harmless individual is so cruel. He made many true friends at Slough Town Football Club as a stalwart programme seller for over 20 years and in the Slough and Windsor Railway Society. He was also a member of CAMRA. He participated in many of the activities of Berkshire Autistic Society who supported David in many ways.
