Story
Dad was diagnosed with stage-4 throat cancer last August. There was no treatment and our world instantly turned upside down. He was in and out of hospital and in lots of pain in the run up to Christmas. However, over two long stays at Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool (around 10 weeks in total) the medical team were able to get his pain under control and he was able to come home and have some quality of life.
We’re incredibly grateful to all the staff and volunteers for the love and care given to us all. This is a small way we can re-pay our thanks and it would mean a lot to all of us if you were able to donate.
Of course, we don’t want to remember dad just for his recent illness. He was so much more than that and we are going to miss him in more ways than we can say.
We will be arranging a suitable memorial for him later in the year when the current Coronavirus restrictions are lifted. Those same restrictions mean the funeral will be for family only, though we will look to record/stream the service for those who would like to remember him.
Thank you for reading and for helping us to show Alice House our appreciation.
