Story
This is how my face will look for my first half marathon in 75% humidity and 30 degrees heat in Singapore!
But we are doing it for a very worthy cause which is United World Schools who build and support schools in remote locations in Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal. In just a few years they have already built and are continuing to support more than 20 schools! On average, it costs USD 30k to build a school for 200 children and USD 10k per year to run!
- USD 5 provides a child with educational materials and resources for a month
- USD 12 puts a desk in a classroom in Cambodia
- USD 22 provides safe drinking water for a classroom
- USD 30 covers minor repairs on classrooms in Myanmar
- USD 50 gives school books to a class of children in Nepal
- USD 120 stocks a classroom library with reading books in Cambodia
- USD 450 secures annual training for teachers and support staff
- USD 600 builds a tube well providing clean drinking water to the school and village
- USD 1000 pays the salary of a locally sourced and employed teacher for a year
