To raise funds for the Hub & Spoke Appeal at Bolton Lads & Girls Club.
The TransAlp Challenge is looking to raise funds for one of
Bolton Lads & Girls Club’s most ambitious projects –
The BLGC Hub & Spoke Challenge!
The Club currently has a membership of over 6,000 young people but wants to continue to support more children and young people across the outlying areas who struggle to take advantage of the club because of difficult travel and expense reasons. Hub & Spoke is looking to create a network of satellite centres in the suburbs and a transport system to pick up and drop off the young people.
125 Years ago some pretty switched on cookies came up with a wonderful idea to create a club for all the disadvantaged boys of the town of Bolton, fast forward to the present and we have probably the best youth centre in the country and along the way saw sense and let the girls join in the fun as well. The model works brilliantly but has one small but significant flaw, the kids of the outlying areas struggle to take advantage of the club because of difficult travel and expense reasons. Hub & Spoke is looking to create a network of satellite centres in the suburbs and a transport system to ferry the kids in, we need your help in kick-starting this programme so get on yer bikes and head for the hills!
