Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is David Allen, I am a personal trainer based Out of Balance in Kettering and as such have decided to help with fundraising for Wicksteed Park in the hope we can keep it open for the long term.

I grew up in the area and visited the park on many occasions with my family when I was younger, now I have a young family of my own I take my boys there as well. It’s such a big part of Kettering and its history allowing so many people the space to enjoy walks, picnics and play areas through the year as well as the rides and attractions I feel it’s important to do what we can to save it.

I have decided the best way I can do this is taking up a fitness challenge and as such I am going to undertake a standard distance duathlon every day for a week.

This will follow the format of a 10km run followed by a 40km cycle and finished with a 5km run every day for 7 days.

Whilst I like to keep fit through my training I haven’t run any sort of distance in the last 18 months so that will add to the challenge for me and all of your support would be greatly appreciated and a huge motivator to get the job done.
