Wow! A windy day, but I got down safely! Thanks to everyone for their generosity and support. Photos at http://davemachin.smugmug.com/Other/Abseil-2011/17173747_dWmZss#1301994321_hgxqwHC. Dave.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 22nd May 2011, it will be a year to the day that my wife, Claire, died suddenly and unexpectedly of a previously undiagnosed heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy. SeeSaw is a charity that helps children cope with bereavement - by helping advise parents, teachers and others who the kids naturally come into contact with. I was lucky enough to benefit from SeeSaw's care and support in the weeks following Claire's death - and their support really was invaluable.

So it seems fitting that on May 22nd this year, I will be taking part in an organised abseil down the 100ft tall women's centre at the John Radcliffe Hostpital in Oxford that SeeSaw have organised. For those of you who don't know, I'm really scared of heights. They're a fantastic bunch of people, who do great work. You hear little about them - and we all hope that we'll never need their support. But I don't know what I would've done without them.

So please dig deep and donate - it's a great cause.

Many thanks,
Dave.
