Story
Disability Rights UK works to create a society where everyone with a disability or health condition can live equally as a full citizen.
One of the charities main objectives is to break the link between disability and poverty. Disabled people are twice as likely to live in poverty as non-disabled people.
As well as benefits and advice work, Disability Rights UK supports disabled people taking up educational and employment opportunities and making positive choices about their lives. They do this through free helplines, leadership and mentoring programmes and employment campaigns. They also produce guides to going to university and taking up apprenticeships which they send to young disabled people in schools and colleges.
