Aiden and Dan are Running the London Marathon for Mind

Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·
Aiden and Dan are running the London Marathon (26 miles!) in memory of our late brother Matthew Starkey who passed away in February last year. We aim to raise funds for the Leeds MIND (Inkwell Arts Project).
Our brother Matthew (29) had suffered from depression since his late teens. He was overwhelmed by his illness and sadly took his own life in February 2012. Towards the end Matthew volunteered at the Inkwell Arts Project (Leeds MIND) http://www.inkwellarts.org.uk/ where he was able to contribute, relax and make friends. He gained a great deal of solace from the time he spent there.
We want to support the Inkwell Arts Project in memory and on behalf of the support it gave Matthew. They have designed and created a lovely space there for people with mental illness. It is important in these difficult economic times that vulnerable people continue to have theraputic support.
Monies raised from this initiative will contribute towards the building of a purpose built creative space, to be used by the local community and users of Mental Health Services.
Why not drop into the Inkwell Cafe open (Saturdays). See details on www.inkwellarts.org.uk tel 0113 3070108
At one time Matthew would have joined us on the Marathon and we would have been left trailing in his dust, hopefully we can do him proud on the big day!
