Hey People,

As many of you know I lost my Fiancee Ruth Charlotte Gilbert on 12th March 2008 to Bowel Cancer. I will be attempting to run the London Marathon on April 25th 2010 in Memory of Ruth for Bowel Cancer UK who help raise awareness of the disease that Ruth lost her battle against.

As many of you know I had the pleasure of being Ruth's partner for the last 7 years of her life since we met at the age of 16 at school and fell in love. Each day I spent with Ruth I loved her a little bit more. The day we got the news of Ruths fate my life was turned upside down. Ruth was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer and lost her battle just 6 months after diagnosis. When Ruth passed I thought my heart would be empty, but it turns out she had already filled it with so much love it will last me my whole lifetime! Ruth made me who I am today and I am so proud to of been by her side! She really was an angel walking amongst men!

Ruth faught her battle most of the time with a smile on her face! How she coped with what she did with such grace and dignity is nothing short of Heroic! Ruth throughout her battle and her life had Brilliant support from her family and friends. The Gilbert family can truly be proud of her as I know she was of you and loved you all dearly!

Today I stand a stronger and better person thanks to Ruth. I know that she wanted to personally raise awareness of this disease to prevent the late diagnosis happening to anybody else. Now I'm taking up that task! Please dig deep and give what you can to help Bowel Cancer UK Raise awareness and do it in memory of Ruth Charlotte Gilbert. The sweetest girl in the world!
