Story
For 22 years, Mixteca has been a second home to the Latinx community in Brooklyn. Whether addressing the most pressing needs of recent arrivals or allowing second-generation immigrants to connect with their roots, Mixteca’s broad range of programs play an essential role in helping the Latinx community thrive in this city.
Mixteca is based in Sunset Park, a Brooklyn neighbourhood that is home to a large Mexican and Central American population. Like so many other areas of Brooklyn, Sunset Park is rapidly gentrifying and we’re worried that one day Mixteca will get priced out of its location at the heart of the community it serves.
To ensure Mixteca can continue delivering on its mission for many years to come, we want to develop a more dependable source of funding in the form of monthly recurring donations. However, doing this requires an upgrade to our fundraising platform and a substantial investment in marketing.
Throughout Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, I will be raising money to help Mixteca enhance its fundraising capabilities for the future. If you are in a position to do so, please consider donating to our fundraiser. Every bit of help will go a long way!
