Daniel's page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. This year I will be raising money for St Lukes hospice in memory of my uncle, Ian Sandbach.
Cancer has had a huge impact on my family. I have lost two uncles to the disease and both my mum and her sister Stella have suffered but fortunately survived kidney cancer. As well as this my fiance was diagnosed as a teenager with thyroid cancer and has happily been cleared of the disease.
I will be taking part in two events this year to raise money for this great charity who help people through some of the toughest times imaginable.
The events are :
Birmingham half marathon 13th October
Hell Runner Nightfall 16th November (an 8 hour endurance run in which I aim to complete 30 miles)
Here is a small insight into what they do from Ian's daughter Carly.
"Me (Carly), my Mum (Stella) and my brother (Michael), are so proud that Daniel is raising money for St Luke’s Hospice in memory of my Dad, Ian Sandbach. Almost unbelievably, this year marks 10 years since Dad died at St Luke’s. We are all so grateful to St Luke’s for the tremendous care they provided to Dad, and the support that they extended to all of us during one of the most difficult periods of our lives. The work they do is invaluable, and we are so grateful to Daniel for helping to support that work through the sponsorship. Thank you."
