DULC Burpee World Record Challenge, 20 February 2021
We help people with mental health needs to improve their development and recovery

Story

To keep our members active and challenged during these difficult times, as well as doing some good for the community, we have set ourselves the challenge of collectively hitting the burpee world record of 870 burpees, as a team, for 21 days running! Starting on Saturday the 20th of February and running until Friday the 12th of March. This challenge will not be easy and will certainly test our physical and mental endurance as a team. Therefore, we would appreciate any donations to be able to support the marvellous people at the Waddington Street Centre. If you've never heard of them here's a bit about what they do: "Based right here in Durham, Waddington Street Centre is a small independent mental health resource centre with over 35 years of experience offering a wide range of informal educational activities and support services. They are passionate about getting people back on track in a safe space. They have loads of programmes and social opportunities for the users one of which was with DU volunteering. The sports programme usually ran weekly at Maiden Castle where users went to the gym with student volunteers in hope of boosting their confidence and independence (and have some fun). Unfortunately, this has been postponed because of covid but will be running ASAP as the centre continues to do brilliant work in Durham community!"
