3 years ago my Dad lost his fight with Cancer.  

During his illness we had a “boys day out” just me and him. It was an opportunity for us to talk man to man over a burger and pint. I saw a side of my Dad that I’d never seen before. Despite his obvious vulnerability there came an inner strength that I never realised he had. He had a list of tasks he wanted me to do in his absence. One was to raise money for a Cancer charity. “If we can help someone else Dan with the money we raise........nice one”.  

So, i’ve gone and signed myself up for the Blenheim Tri on June 2nd to raise money for Bloodwise.

This will be a challenge for me. The last time I swam I was in my PJ’s picking up a brick from the bottom of the school pool, cycling should be ok, but running........I call that plodding.

If i can have an ounce of the inner strength my Dad did I’ll be ok. He’ll be in the forefront of my mind all the way round and I hope he’d be proud that with the support of wonderful friends and family we raise a decent amount of dosh for a great charity. Please give what you can.
