Story
On 13 July 2016 I tragically lost one of my best friends, Dave Holman, in a road accident.
I had known Dave for almost twenty years and am incredibly proud that he was one of my ushers at my wedding in 2012. He was kind, generous, thoughtful, and life has never been the same without him.
This is the fifth anniversary of the Dave Holman Challenge - an annual walk set up in his memory, and the first since 2019 due to COVID-19 concerns. It is however ‘back with a bang’ on Saturday May 21 2022 with a really memorable walk.
The route will take all walkers from Morecambe to Blackpool along the Lancashire Coastal Path, with either a 24 or 32-mile option (I will be going for the 32 mile option 😊).
It will kick off with breakfast at the beautiful Art Deco Midland Hotel and then walk 25 miles along the coast to Knott End. The group will assemble in the Bourne Arms for a well deserved drink before taking a short ferry ride across the estuary to Fleetwood.
Walkers then have the option of completing the remaining 8 miles along the promenade to the finish at Blackpool Tower, or catching a tram to the finish.
All money raised from the walk will go to support Tiny Steps. The charity was set up by Martin and Laura Clifton, when their daughter Connie was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called West Syndrome.
Tiny Steps' aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs and their families in the Northwich/Winsford area of Cheshire.

Thank you in advance for all your support ❤️
