Story
Ted has been having checkups at The Alder Hey Cardiac Unit since he was 1, when his parents found out he had a heart murmur and sub-aortic stenosis. Just before Christmas in 2012 he needed emergency open heart surgery. He spent 24 hours in intensive care and 6 days on Ward K2 where the most amazing nurses and doctors looked after him.
Whilst Ted was waiting for surgery his television was broken and he decided he wanted to raise money for a new TV when he was well enough. 8 weeks after his operation Ted successfully completed a mini-triathlon and raised the much-needed funds for the hospital. Ted was made an ambassador for Alder Hey hospital for his achievements and has even been awarded the Pride of Britain award for all his fundraising acheivements.
UPDATE - this year Ted is trying to raise £10,000 for Alder Hey. Ted is continuing to fundraise for the hospital that saved his life and they will continue to look after him until he is 18 years of age. He has been busy with running, cycling, a charity concert and cake sales. Can you help him reach his next target to help children just like him
We are supporting Ted and his #showusyourbear campaign with the #TEAMTED #CycleForTed by raising money for Alder Hey Children's hospital.
There are many events organised for Team Ted - We have cycled 400km from London to Paris on June 10th, a sponsored walk around knowsley safari park, a half marathon, a coffee morning, a cake sale, a golf day, gala ball, birthday donations and school events
We have never ridden road bikes before and the learning curve is immense - please support #TeamTed, our cycle ride and charity events in raising much needed funds for Alder Hey hospital and a thank you for saving ted's life.
