There are 6 of us walking Machu Picchu in Peru in October and  fundraising for 3 separate charities; CLIC Sargent, Friends of the Beatson and  Diabeties UK. Every penny counts!

After being at a fundraising event held by a couple who had lost their toddler to cancer, the charity I feel most compelled to help is CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent is the only charity that offers families of children with cancer all round care and support.

Any amount you are able to donate will be very worthwhile. £20 could pay for a CLIC Sargent Play Specialist to help a child prepare for and cope with treatments, by using models,toys and photos to explain what will happen. £50 means that a CLIC Sargent Social Worker can be there soon after diagnosis, talking to a family one-to-one. Or £100 means a young person who has (or had) cancer or leukaemia can go on an activity weekend.

I am also very appreciative of the work of The Beatson Oncology Centre in Glasgow as my Mum has been visiting it over the past two years as she recovers from a melanoma.
