Story
As most of you will know I caught the running bug about 2 years ago and in that time I have completed 3 1/2 marathons and a 10k. I've enjoyed preparing and taking part in these events and I now think I'm ready to take that massive stride and complete a full marathon. Yes I know it's nuts, but I'm going to do it!
I've decided to do the Manchester marathon for Parkinsons UK because it's a charity which has supported and been supported by my family and friends for a number of years.
My aunt May suffered from this horrible disease for many years but never once complained, always smiling and joking. She lead her life as fully as she could until she past away last year.
Also..
My good friend Robert Dolan, Boab to his friends, has a constant daily battle with Parkinsons and for me to run 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what Boab, his wife Cathy and his daughters Eilidh and Kirsty have to go through on a day to day basis.
Boab dedicated most of his working life to helping some of Glasgows most needy citizens get back on track and now it's time for his friends to help Parkinsons on Boabs behalf.
It's also a way for me to say thank you to the Dolans for hosting the most magnificent cup final barbecues, all of which were unforgettable.
So that's why I'm ready to #sufferforBoab
