After starting my weight loss journey In November 2018 and now being two thirds of the way to my target weight I have decided to push myself one step further and take on all 4 Kiltwalks covering a total of 97.6 Miles. 

As well as a personal challenge the more important fundraising effort to support Clan lies very close to home. 

After being diagnosed in 2007 my mum worked through her treatment only taking a few days off when she felt really ill due to the Chemotherapy and two weeks off after her surgery. Mum completed her Radiotherapy in January 2008 and in October 2008 joined a host of other fundraisers to do Breast Cancer Care's Trek South Africa 2008 where she was trekking for up to eight hours a day for six days through remote parts of South Africa's nature reserves, forests and mountainous regions as they made their way from cape to coast. 

After a successful trip to South Africa and conquering Table Mountain mum went on to complete another fundraising trip to Thailand. 

Mum spent the next few years in remission until July 2013 when the cancer returned quite aggressively. Mum started Chemo again and this seemed to slow the spread but sadly mum's body couldn't cope with the weekly Chemo sessions and she sadly lost her battle with in December 2014. 

From day one of mum's battle with cancer Clan provided invaluable support to both her and our family. From therapies to counselling and beyond they were a constant presence and a welcome ear when times were difficult. Anything that can be raised for them to help continue this support for other families would be absolutely fantastic.
