Story
Asalamu ‘Alaikum,
I pray you and your family are in good health.
We have all lost a loved one from the Covid-19 pandemic or know of someone who has.
I lost my father to Covid-19 through a horrific experience, not being able to grieve with my own siblings or even see my father when he took his last breath. I stood as a stranger as my beloved father was buried, prevented from touching him and seeing his blessed face for the last time.
After burying my father I met many families at the graveyard who went through the same experience.
The purpose of this fundraise is to give in Sadaqa Jariya on behalf of all the muslims who have lost their lives during the pandemic. I am aiming to bring us muslims together, regardless of ethnicity, through this uniting force that will benefit our loved ones who are unable to make dua and to give any charity.
Allah (SWT) beautifully reminds us:
“And spend on others out of what We have provided for you as sustenance, before there comes a time when death approaches any of you, and he then says, "O my Sustainer! If only You would grant me a delay for a short while, so that I could give in charity and be among the righteous!"
I want to take this opportunity to raise funds to feed our less fortunate brothers and sisters in Bangladesh, Pakistan & India, providing families with food packs (£30 each) and a water well (£300 each). Items in one food pack include:
20 kg wheat flour
5 kg rice
5 kg sugar
3 litres edible oil
2 kg Daal Moong (Green Gram)
2 kg Daal Channa (Bangal Gram)
2 kg Red Beans
1 pack of red chilli powder
Iodised salt (two packs of 800 grams each)
In the month of Ramadan, Zaimah (Charity number: 1150725) has already been distributing throughout the countries listed above as well as to Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Kenya, Malawi and South Africa.
The food will begin to be distributed as soon as we kick off the fundraiser. Once the total has been submitted and if we go beyond our target, food packs will continue to be distributed post Ramadan 2021 too In Sha Allah.
This project is Zakat eligible. For confidence in the project, a banner with my name, "Ruhith Wadi Covid-19 Martyrs" will be shown as evidence that the food is being distributed in the selected countries. We will also receive pictures and videos to share with you all.
Never belittle a good deed. Give whatever you can for Allah’s sake. Bismillah!
