Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our little daughter Millie was born premature at under 4lbs following a difficult pregnancy which followed two miscarriages. We were over the moon when Millie survived the first 12 weeks but our joy soon turned to worry when we were told that Millie wasn't moving enough and her neck indicated that she could be born with a genetic disease. We were adamant that Millie would be brought into this world regardless but wanted to prepare ourselves should she not be 100% fit and healthy.
We made the difficult decision to go for a Amniocentesis at 16 weeks and everything went well given the circumstances. When the doctor asked us to revisit to discuss the results, we were told that Millie did not have any known genetic disorders. However she would need weekly monitoring as she was not growing sufficiently and her chances of survival were not guaranteed. Following a turbulent few months my wife was induced on the 9th September 2011 and Millie was born fit and healthy albeit very small.
Our story ended in Joy but other parents are not so lucky. I would like everyone to think about those unfortunate enough to lose their babies throughout pregnancy or in the early stages of their life. Please can I ask you donate a minimum of £3 towards the Birmingham Womens Hospital to help them maintain the high standard of care we experienced throughout the pregnancy of daughter. Thank you BWH you are appreciated!
