Story
The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi corridor road runs between both sides of the park, and is the main access into the reserve for visitors and the main road through the park for many locals. The road allows wildlife to cross between both sides of the reserve unobstructed by fences. However litter is a constant problem
We have all seen the devastating impact plastics do to our environment and our animals. Here litter, especially plastics and glass, are a continuous threat to the ecosytem and wildlife itself. The wildlife here are becoming more exposed to these potentially fatal objects, increasing the risk of them making their way into their digestive systems as well as into the ecosystem.
The Uthingo Foundation has partnered with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, local communities and schools for an all-day event to clean up this corridor road from litter. Our mission is to spread awareness and make a long-lasting impact on local communities and tourists to value our wild spaces and reduce our impact on them as much as possible and to become guardians for our environment and its wildlife. We must all be accountable.
Please donate anything you can to our campaign, all funds raised will go directly to coordinating and running this event and spreading this important message. Our dream is for this to be an annual event, hopefully with less and less litter to pick up .
Thank you
