Story

It is with such enormous sadness that I write that my twin brother, Peter lost his life last Saturday while doing something that he loved - walking in the Mourne Mountains. 

He was discovered, having collapsed near the peak of Slieve Donard. 

A team of twenty heroes from the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team sped to his side.  Despite their best efforts to save Peter, he passed...

Mourne Mountain Rescue Team

The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team was established in 1962 and was the first mountain rescue team in Ireland. The Team is made up entirely of volunteers who turn out in all weather, day or night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A voluntary SAR team that undertakes between 30-40 callouts per year.
