Story
Devastating floods have hit Pakistan. More than a thousand people have died, and at least a further 33 million are affected. More than a million homes have been destroyed or badly damaged, leaving many homeless and exposed to the elements. People need food, clean drinking water and shelter.
One third of the country – an area the size of the UK – has been submerged. Entire villages have been swept away. Schools, roads, crops and livelihoods are gone and conditions are expected to worsen as the rains continue.
DEC charities are already on the ground providing life-saving aid either directly or through local partners. But they urgently need more funds to reach more people.
The Co-operative Bank have pledged our support for this appeal through an initial donation of £10,000.
