Story
My husband, Jeff, was diagnosed in 2017 with a rare form of stomach cancer and had to spend much of his time at Unity hospital. Many times we wanted to “get away from it all” and not see the institutional part of the hospital. Unity is a beautiful hospital but it’s missing an outside area for people to “tune out” their medical conditions. Jeff passed on August 22, 2019. Jeff is not just remembered for having cancer, he is remembered for being a humble, witty, reliable husband, friend and family member.
I proposed a project to Rochester Regional Health to create a paved path around the pond at Unity in Jeff’s, memory. Jeff always liked seeing the pond from his hospital room. I would love to make it easier for future patients and their caretakers to get away from the inner walls of the hospital and enjoy the pond and fresh air in an easy way. The project will cost $35,000. Please consider donating to this fundraising initiative to help future patients and their loved ones enjoy time together outside of the hospital.
Big News! We are so close to our goal, and need your help. Wegmans Food Markets has stepped in to offer a corporate match of up to $5,000. If donors like you could help us meet that fill match we would exceed our goal and see this project come to light.
