Story
Hello, we the family of the late Kieran McNally are setting up this Just giving page to raise funds for a local charity called 'Life & Time', who provide a responsive Nursing Care Service to patients, who are at End Of Life, in their own homes between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
A walk has been arranged in memory of Kieran on Saturday the 10th of July 2021. This walk takes in the beautiful mountains where we live in the Mournes. It is marked out to cater for everyone's level of fitness and capabilities ie. You can do it all or join in at certain points and will finish in our village of Rostrevor, Co Down.
Our story.
Kieran, our brother, was diagnosed on the 8th of April 2019 with terminal bowel and liver cancer at the young age of 39. Kieran also suffered from mental health issues which he overcame by challenging himself by travelling the world and experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. He travelled to countries like Australia (where he spent 5 years), Canada, and also Thailand, where he took part in a Muai Thai training course and as a qualified chef always enjoyed the culinary delights of all the countries he visited.
Then in 2018 he gave himself the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro and he spent most of 2018 training rigorously for this massive challenge. At the time he was unaware how sick he was and on the 21st of January 2019 he reached the summit. After the highs of completing this goal, little did we know that exactly 6 months later he would pass away.
When we as a family were told that Kieran was nearing the end of life we hoped that he will be able to take him home and this is where 'Life & Time' our local charity were ready to come on board, to provide him and us with their professional care and support. Unfortunately in the early hours of Sat 20th July 2019, our beloved son and brother passed away.
So we'd like to ask for your generousity and support to raise as much as we can for this invaluable charitable organisation.
Many Thanks,
The McNally Family.
