Story

On the 2nd July 2021, Clare Lipscombe suffered a cardiac arrest, triggered by a spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) whilst working for the European Tour in the Czech Republic. Tragically she passed away 7 days later, aged just 43

Clare was a much loved daughter, sister, aunty, friend and colleague who radiated joy and happiness wherever she went.

Her golfing career began at thirteen with Cirencester Golf Club and Clare went on to win the Gloucestershire Ladies Championship three times, the English Ladies Stroke Play championship and the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes. After turning professional in 2003 she was a member of the Ladies European Tour for seven years.

In Clare's memory we are partnering with Arrhythmia Alliance to fund Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for golf courses in Gloucestershire. Whilst many clubs have an AED, these are usually located in the clubhouse as opposed to out on the course.

Golf courses are a common place for cardiac arrests to occur. For every minute that someone is in cardiac arrest without receiving CPR and having a defibrillator used on them, their chance of survival decreases by 10%, making the location of AEDs crucial.  AEDs are easy to use and don't require training, but could make the difference between life and death

With your support and in Clare's memory,  we can help to save lives in Gloucestershire and beyond
