For my 50th I'd like to give something back and travel to Lourdes as a helper to make it possible for those that are sick or disabled to make the journey. Going with Across, a charity that is really special to our family and to our community.

Many of you may know how amazing Across is, but for those who don't, Across takes sick, disabled and terminally ill (VIPs) to Lourdes by Jumbulance for a pretty unique pilgrimage experience!

John, Izzy and I have all travelled with Across in the past and had the privilege to be helpers - providing love, care, kindness and support to the VIPs who may otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy such a trip.  We spend time with Our Lady in the grotto, visit beautiful churches, take days out to the Pyrenees and enjoy the simplicity of a coffee or ice cream in local cafes!

All helpers and nursing staff on the pilgrimage pay for themselves and take time off work to make it such a special experience. 

By supporting Across, you will be helping to ensure that the charity can continue to operate after such a challenging two years and having had to cancel all planned pilgrimages. 

2022 sees a new start for the charity and I would like to help make sure that we can keep the Jumbulance on the road and give my time on a trip.

If I am lucky enough to reach my birthday target, anything over and above will go towards Amy making the same journey and getting experience as a medic.
