Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.On May 25th I have set myself the challenge of running the BUPA London 10,000m for the ME Assosiation. The ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy) has taken on a big significance my whole family since my little sister Katy was diagnosed a couple of years ago.
ME is a severe neurological illness that affecting 250,000 people in the UK. Even the smallest exertion can floor them, their joints and muscles ache, restful sleep eludes them and 'brain fog' clouds even the smallest judgment. The reality is it changes lives and there is no known cure... yet there is a huge misconception about the illness which needs to change!
The ME Assosiation is campaigning to have ME recognised as a severe illness that needs to be taken seriously and working to promote research in the hope of an eventual cure. They also support ME suffers and their families.
For me though, raising money for the ME Assosiation is much more than just raising money for a great cause it's also about showing support for my sister. I really do admire her never give up attitude; through it all she's always trying something new to help her beat it! She is an inspiration!
For those of you who know me you'll know I'm not really a runner (but you'll also know I do not like to fail) I will find this difficult, but not nearly as much of a challenge as day to day living poses for someone with ME.
Please show you support for this worthwhile cause. Thank you!
