Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On 23rd May, myself, my colleague Wil and many others are walking 100km (62 miles) in one go from Richmond to Brighton to raise money for some very deserving causes.
I'm raising money for the Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases (the MPS Society) It's the only UK charity supporting individuals and families affected by MPS, Fabry and related diseases and funds research into treatment and therapies. These are rare, progressive, life-limiting genetic conditions.
I have Fabry Disease, and I am very, very fortunate to be well with only minor symptoms at this time. I have met many other MPS and Fabry patients who are not as lucky and it is for them I walk.
It's estimated that we'll be walking for 20-30 hours, much of it off-road. This is by far the hardest challenge I have ever undertaken, both physically and mentally so I'm very grateful my friend Wil is taking part too! All the blisters, aches, and time spent training will be worth it if I can meet my fundraising goal and can help this great charity continue their much-needed work.
