Story
In April 2005 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through an intrusive course of chemotherapy which unfortunately didn't work, and so in August 2005 she had a mastectomy. Throughout that treatment she barely acknowledged that she had cancer and bounced back from it with incredible vigour.
In April 2013 she was told that the breast cancer had returned. A month later we found out that she had extensive secondary bone cancer, which later spread further. Despite trying a number of different treatments, in January 2014 we were told that the drugs weren't working. On May 16th, she lost the battle. There are so many medical advances happening and yet to happen - even a week before she died my dad hadn't given up hope on a miracle cure. We hope that one day that miracle cure will be discovered.
