Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Luca Giovanni was aged 5 when he suffered a very rare, deadly reaction to a usually treatable virus. His amazing parents were determined to make sure that his untimely death was not in vain and made the most difficult decision of their lives and yet the most important, to agree that Luca's organs be donated.
Through this heart wrenching decision they in turn saved 4 lives. Luca saved the lives of 2 children and 2 adults directly through donation of his organs. And probably many more since through the surge of Organ Donation Registration. Our families have been extremely privileged to have been a part of his short life.
Luca was a very happy go lucky little boy who attended St Hugh's Catholic Primary School in Timperley, Manchester. He will always be fondly remembered there through his friends, classmates and teachers who strive on keeping his memory very much alive.
Our intention is to raise as much as possible for the Family Donor Network who help families who have loved ones who are either giving or receiving organ donation. They are an amazing organisation who give help and support to families at their most difficult times. An organisation to which I know the Giovannini family whole heartedly support.
Even if it means that we can raise awareness for the need for us all to register for Organ Donation then we will have achieved our goal, but to also raise funds for this amazing organisation will be fantastic.
By donating we can give continued support to others in need.
Wether you have children or not, it is easy to understand how devestating it must be to loose the most precious thing in your life when their life has bearly began.
Its definitely worth a 10k run..... At least.
Thank you for reading and hopefully donating
