We provide expert care and support to young people with cancer

Story

This is a final farewell from Liz and I.  Thank you for making our DW challenge SO worth while.  We will be signing off very soon and the funds raised will be transfered over to the fundraising team for the Nottingham Teenage Cancer Unit.

Your donations will be put to great use to improve the lives of the young people of Nottingham who are unfortunate enough to come into contact with the unit.

Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us for our challenge so far.  We completed our 125 miles as Big Ben struck 8am on Easter Monday.  Our total paddling time over the 4 days was 23 hours and 56 minutes - a very respectable time for the only "ladies" K2 competeing in the Endeavour. Click here to read our blog and find out how the four days went  www.channelingpositivity.com

We have had many highs and lows during our preparations but we can honestly say there were definitely more highs during the event itself - a challenge worth doing, and for a great cause.

Our Story

We (Claire and Liz) are embarking on the Devizes to Westminster Kayak Endeavour, kayaking 125 miles over the Easter weekend. For those who know nothing about this event, like us 8 months ago, we will be kayaking 35 miles a day of 3 days, then a final stretch down the Tideway for 17 miles on day 4.  At our paddle rate that's about 7 hours a day paddling while the rest of you are eating chocolate!

We were inspired by the ladies from Channeling Positivity who swam the channel in July to prove to themselves they could and through their journey were blown away by the support they received. This has inspired them to set up a charitable foundation to help young people undertake their own personal challenges and change their lives for the better, part of our challenge is to help them find a benefactor to get the charitable foundation off the ground. Find out more at www.channelingpositivity.com.

We are also raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  Liz's son Noah was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in June 2010.  After 6 months of grueling treatment and several months of R & R time Noah was told his treatment had been successful.  We would like to raise money to promote Noah's good news story and help other children during their difficult treatment.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now - send us your Easter bunny money, you know you will only have to work off all that chocolate later!!
