Story
As Captain this year I have chosen Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary as my Captain’s charity.
Mid Antrim do fantastic work for animals and we were lucky enough to have been picked as adopters for Lucy who was found roaming the streets around Christmas time. After a few visits we finally signed the papers and brought her home. She went straight to our other dog Shorty and remained his shadow until he passed away in August 2021. She was heartbroken when he left for rainbow bridge and struggled without him. After nine amazing years with Lucy she passed away in November 2021 to be with Shorty again.
Our home was quiet and sad for a long time and we missed the toys lying around and the pitter patter of paws so after a year or so Michelle and I did a bit of a collection for the sanctuary and brought it up to them. While we were there, we fed some of the residents some treats and that’s when we came across Stitch, a little big eared yorkie full of mischief. We enquired about him, even though we had a fair idea we wouldn’t stand much of a chance as these little ones get snapped up pretty quick but unbeknownst to us he had only just arrived half an hour prior to our visit and so just a week later we brought him home and named him Buddy.
I want to thank MAAS for giving us another opportunity to adopt again from the sanctuary, after all a house isn’t a home without a dog, especially if they’re rescued!
With the help of family and friends and fellow golfers I’m hoping to raise £2500 for MAAS
