Story
We are a group of 13-16 year olds taking on The National Three Peaks. This challenge consists of 26 miles hiking, over the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, with the aim of completing them within 24 hours! Jemima, Annabelle, and mum Katie Jordan and Sam Paddon, Annabelle, Ava and dad Jeremy Bygrave along with Cissy and dad Jarrod Homer have decided to take on this challenge for Dream Beams and in aid of Visyon. Visyon is a charity which helps children and young people, aged 11-25, and their families, in the East Cheshire area with their emotional health and wellbeing. Since the start of the Covid epidemic, the number of children and young people struggling with their mental health has risen dramatically. Jemima, Annabelle and their friends who are undertaking this challenge have all seen some of their peers mental health struggles and understand the seriousness that if these young people’s mental health needs are left unaddressed, they can have life changing affects on their whole futures. However, with the right help and potential early attention from charities such as Visyon, these struggles can be eased and good outcomes can mean these children are then able to flourish. Visyon offers counselling, therapeutic play, creative workshops, family support and mentoring. This is why we, as team of young individuals, are taking on this huge challenge to help make a difference to young people’s lives for the future. We would be so appreciative if you could help by sponsoring us, no matter how much, we know that every penny given will go to helping more young children succeed in their bright young futures and we thank you in advance for all your encouraging words and sponsorship. It will all help give us more energy to keep climbing to help make a difference!
