World Orphan Week · 4 March 2013 to 11 March 2013 ·
Our family has been involved with 'SOS Children's Villages' for over twenty years. We have had the privilege to be a part of the lives of two separate orphaned boys from Ethiopia who have grown into amazing young men so, when SOS asked us to become nvolved in a new challenge to raise money to build an SOS village in Chipata, Zambia, we were happy to oblige.
Chipata is a place of desperate poverty. Many of the children have been orphaned due to the HIV epidemic in their country. The children need a safe haven and this is where SOS steps in. SOS builds loving homes in safe villages headed by caring foster mothers. The hopeless are given hope and the opportunity to become valuable members of thier society.
Our aim, as mentioned, is to walk a total of 60 miles over the period from January 9 until March 11, 2013 to commemorate 'World Orphan Week', which runs from March 4 -11. I think we will mostly be walking in Wales but possibly a few places further afield as well. We will keep you posted on our progress and take some photos along the way.
Please take a look at the SOS website to see what amazing work they do and please consider sponsoring us in this worthy cause.
Thankyou/Diolch yn fawr,
Chris and Peter Broster
