Dad was fortunate to take part in Outward Bound adventures in the 1960s ; it was an experience he often recalled and spoke about with great affection. 

In Dad's own words, taken from an email sent to some work friends in December 2020, there was 'a two week trip with 30 or so others, in about 1967 on the Sir Winston Churchill training schooner at a time when Whitbread was trying to make men of us!' 

Dad felt he did benefit from the lessons learned there and we feel it only fitting to honour his memory with donations to support other young people develop the confidence, resilience and motivation to succeed that Dad himself had and shared with others.

So many people have said what an inspirational, supportive and calming mentor he was to them in so many different ways and we are proud to remember him for how he strived to be. 

We have all lost someone very special indeed; a loving husband, wonderful dad, lovely grandad and loyal friend.
