On Tuesday 26th November 2019 I volunteered for Panathlon (Investigo's Charity Partner for 2019).  

The Panathlon Challenge is a national charity which provides sporting opportunities for over 17,500 disabled young people each year.  Without Panathlon, many would not otherwise have an opportunity to take part in competitive sport.

Panathlon has been benefiting young disadvantaged people since 1995 – with a focus on disabled young people since 1999 – and has invested over £8 million in opportunities for young people to compete in sport during this time.

Panathlon's sporting programmes, which, include primary, secondary and 16+ multi-sport events, swimming, football and boccia – currently reach all 32 London boroughs and 37 counties across England with plans to be nationwide by 2020.

On the day myself and a colleague supported a Football Finals Event round the corner from Wembley Stadium and consisted of a variety of school teams at Under 13 and Under 16.  

As someone who has been very sporty throughout my life it was great to see the enjoyment that the kids got from taking part in a competitive team sport in addition to all the benefits gained from exercising outdoors.  This is something that most of us take for granted and were it not for Panathlon they might never have the opportunity.   

It was also great to see the passion, commitment and enthusiasm from everyone involved to make this, and all the other events, happen.

It really is a great cause and anything you can afford will have a big impact.
