Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
I’ve done a few different challenges for Veterans’ Aid since my 2007 car crash: a 5K run, Wales’s three highest peaks, The Paras 10, The Fan Dance Race and 6 times up and down Butser Hill in the South Downs (to simulate the Fan Dance's 15-miles distance and 88m elevation change).
Two aims, one to raise money for a great cause and two to give me a target to help manage the depression I’ve had since my motorbike crash in 1994 that left me with chronic pain and a mobility disability (doctors said I wouldn't walk again!!!) and a car crash in 2007 that made things worse. Theses events cost me my RAF careers as and Engineering Officer and then as a Chartered Enginner as a civilian in the MoD.
Doing the 26.3miles/42.2km in The South Downs means I'm near home in case I fall and hurt myself (again!!!). It'll be a there-and-back route accompanied by some of my RAF oppos. I'll have my trusty 35lb/16kg bergen and some comfy boots.
